U-Stor-It Kensington is a ground-up construction project by First Wave Construction that was completed in July 2024. This project is located in central San Diego within the Kensington neighborhood. Our team managed all aspects of the site work and buildout to construct a class A storage facility.

First Wave Construction was able to obtain a temporary certificate of occupancy allowing U-Stor-It to begin its operations without interruption during the construction phase allowing for the operator to lease up the site while facility was being constructed.

U-Stor-It Vista was a renovation of an industrial facility that was previously used to manufacture motocross parts and wheels. This facility was previously a 2-story facility that was renovated by First Wave Construction in a 3-story self-storage facility featuring 1200 units and 50+ recreational vehicle parking spaces.

Gross SF: 74,500 SF

U-Stor-It Otay Mesa is a renovation of an existing 74,500 gross square foot square foot office building that was previously utilized by the US government. The facility was renovated into a 2-story self-storage facility by First Wave Construction in 2022 and was designed to serve business customers featuring 30’ wide drive aisles and 8’ interior aisles.

U-Stor-It Elmhurst is a ground-up construction project by First Wave Construction that was completed in 2018. It is a 2-story addition within an existing 1-story building envelope with 1-story addition. This is a type II-B construction project.

University Village was a ground-up U-Stor-It facility built by First Wave Construction which completed in 2021. It is a 6-story self-storage facility with climate controlled units located next to University of Illinois - Chicago. It features a drive-through loading bay with drive up units on interior. There is also a locker mezzanine system.

U-Stor-It Westmont was a renovation of an industrial facility. The 701 location consists of 1-story with the management office, storage units and a loading dock. The 400 location consists of 2-stories with storage units and 2 exterior docks. The 406 location consists of 1-story with storage units and 2 interior docks with levelers.
